Steve Cash is best known as a member of the band The Ozark Mountain Daredevils. He also took time in the early part of this century to publish a trilogy of odd fantasy novels. These books feature ideas and plots that seem familiar on the surface, but delve into depths that other writers don’t typically explore. The Meq:

1881. After being orphaned in a train wreck, twelve-year-old Zianno “Z” Zezen discovers he is no ordinary boy but a Meq–a being who heals quickly and stops aging at age twelve. Z searches for the mysterious “Sailor” and vows revenge on an assassin.

Time Dancers:

Zianno “Z” Zezen and his fellow Meq–near-immortal beings who stop aging at the age of twelve–await the Remembering, when they will learn their origins and purpose. Meanwhile, Z and friends race to find a mythical talisman before assassin Fleur-du-Mal reaches it.

The Remembering:

After the events of Time Dancers, Zianno “Z” Zezen and his fellow Meq are even closer to the Remembering–the time when the history of the Meq will be revealed. But first, they must survive the Cold War.
