Book 1:

Steven Phillips, professional programmer aka code monkey, always wanted to quit his boring job and make games instead, but when he finds a bizarre card in a storage facility he is transported to the amazing world of Spellforge, where magic is real and life is a game for survival.

Wizards in Spellforge buy, sell, trade, and gather materials to forge spell cards that they use to murder each other in the magical arena… and outside of it. The world is divided among several magical schools who jealously guard control of their forges to prevent any deviant forms of spell cards from being created, and only the most powerful wizards become rich and independent enough to build their own private forges.

To dominate the Spellforge, Steven will have to tackle the toughest challenges, win the biggest prizes, and forge the most powerful spells. Only the strongest can survive for long in the crucible of the Spellforge.

Book 2:

Nobody in the land of Spellforge will help Steven rebuild Lina’s family wizard’s tower and reignite its forge. Some oppose them through fear: fear of change, fear of another independent wizard, and most of all, fear of the power of dual magic spellcards.

Other sinister wizards oppose them because of their own arcane plans for domination of Spellforge, and they will not tolerate an upstart challenger. So Steven, Lina the Hunter, and Rani the Illusion Mage will have to do it all on their own.

But building a forge is neither easy, nor safe. To gather the magical items they need, they will have to venture to Mortua, a maleficent land where the dead walk, and the living either master them, or become them.
