Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – J.K. Rowling Free Audiobook
Description
Written by
Read by Stephen Fry
Format: M4B
Bitrate: 128 Kbps
Unabridged
This is a sound quality upgrade over the other versions of the book narrated by Stephen Fry.
For some reason the standard download from Audible is still only 64kbps at 22.05kHz. However they do have a USAC codec version encoded at 128kbps 44.1kHz.
USAC is not well supported so I have re-encoded as VBR AAC with a target bitrate of 224kbps. Due to a the book being 99% mono with just a little stereo music at the start and end, the output file was virtually the same size as the original at only 122kbps 44.1kHz stereo.
If you are looking to download the other books at the highest quality you can get them from Cardes’s torrent which I will link to in the comments below. Order of the Phoenix is the only book he doesn’t have at 128kbps.

Stephen Fry brings the richness of these magical stories to life in the original British recordings.
‘You are sharing the Dark Lord’s thoughts and emotions. The Headmaster thinks it inadvisable for this to continue. He wishes me to teach you how to close your mind to the Dark Lord.’
Treat your ears to a performance so rich and captivating you’ll imagine yourself in the halls of Hogwarts. Wherever you listen, the unmistakable voice of Stephen Fry is guaranteed to guide you ever more deeply into this magical story and transport you to the heart of the adventure.
Dark times have come to Hogwarts. After the Dementors’ attack on his cousin Dudley, Harry Potter knows that Voldemort will stop at nothing to find him.
There are many who deny the Dark Lord’s return, but Harry is not alone: a secret order gathers at Grimmauld Place to fight against the Dark forces.
Harry must allow Professor Snape to teach him how to protect himself from Voldemort’s savage assaults on his mind. But they are growing stronger by the day and Harry is running out of time…
Theme music composed by James Hannigan
